December 2024 Meeting
Members Meeting Minutes – December 12, 2024
The meeting was called to order, and roll call was conducted.
Attendance:
Present:
- Multiple union members were in attendance.
Excused Absences:
- One member was excused due to a family emergency.
- Another member was excused due to a family illness.
- A third member was excused due to a medical procedure.
Agenda Items and Discussions
1. Officer Meeting Updates:
- An overview of the officers' meeting was provided.
- Members were informed that a survey will be distributed in February 2025 to gather feedback on issues with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Formal notification to the City regarding contract renegotiations will occur in March 2025.
- Revisions to the CBA must be finalized by mid-August 2025 for presentation in September 2025.
2. Union Membership Cards:
- Membership cards are needed for several individuals.
3. Meeting Schedule Adjustment:
- A motion was proposed to change the meeting times as follows:
- Members' meetings: 4:30 PM
- Officers' meetings: 5:00 PM
- Meetings will remain scheduled on the second Thursday of each month.
- The motion was seconded and unanimously approved as a temporary adjustment.
4. Virtual Meeting Participation:
- A member volunteered to bring a laptop to future meetings to facilitate participation for those unable to attend in person.
- The union will evaluate the effectiveness of this practice moving forward.
Adjournment:
At 7:05 PM, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting, seconded, and unanimously approved.
